Brad Brown, DO
Erie
Read BioThe first two questions people often ask Dr. Brown are “how tall are you” and “did you play basketball”. Well, he is 6’7” and yes, he did play basketball in college. Now that is out of the way, on to the good stuff!
Dr. Brown attended medical school in Phoenix, where he knew right away that he wanted to care for everyone of all ages, or “womb to tomb and everything in between” as some say. As a family doc, he also works in rural emergency rooms and various hospitals in the area to keep his skills sharp. He has a passion for using lifestyle and food as medicine, and you will often hear him say “life is motion and motion is medicine”. After school, the mountains called him and his family back, and they couldn’t say no to living in Erie, CO.
Dr. Brown, his wife Dani, and their three kids have felt the heart and soul of the Erie community grow for the past few years, and they are wanting to continue to part of it both personally and professionally for decades to come. In his spare time Dr. Brown is an avid road cyclist, basketball dunker, and anything-in-the-mountains enthusiast. Amy Cook, MD
Denver
Read BioAmy Cook, MD, is Board Certified in Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She completed medical school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and residency at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital (now SCL Health) in Denver. Dr. Cook has now been happily practicing family medicine for over 10 years.
Dr. Cook started her medical career working in a group private practice, but more recently she has worked in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with predominately low-income, uninsured and underinsured patients in Adams County. Dr. Cook speaks Spanish fluently and has always been drawn towards work with the low-income and struggling members of her community. She believes in equal access to high-quality healthcare for all individuals of all races and ethnicities and strives to deliver exceptional care to her patients, meeting them wherever they are in their journey towards better health. Dr. Cook is passionate about preventative healthcare and providing education to her patients in hopes she can empower them to take better care of themselves, support their families, stay in school, maintain employment and be active in their communities.
Though Dr. Cook has enjoyed her work with those in need in her community, she has found it increasingly challenging to continue to deliver the type of care she believes all patients deserve with the demands of our ever-changing, insurance-driven, American healthcare market. Dr. Cook understands how vulnerable, helpless and overwhelmed patients can feel when they are suffering and how frustrating it can be to navigate through the healthcare system to get the care that they need. As a patient, knowing you have easy access to a physician you can trust can be healing in and of itself. Direct Primary Care brings medicine back to the basics, the physician-patient relationship, and Dr. Cook is excited to embark on this new journey!
Dr. Cook enjoys the breadth of family medicine and in particular, caring for the whole family, from infants to the oldest members of families. She finds particular joy in caring for children and has always had a special ability to connect with little people. She is also in the thick of parenting her own young, active children and so can certainly relate on a personal level to her adult patients who are in the midst of their own journeys through parenthood.
Dr. Cook is a Denver native, and in her free time, she enjoys taking advantage of all Colorado has to offer - camping, hiking, skiing, running, and just enjoying time outdoors with her husband and 2 young children.

He started his career as an Exercise Physiologist and later worked as a Pulmonary Technologist at Boston Children's Hospital. Adam continued his education at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), where he graduated with honors in Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) in 2006. In 2022, he earned a Doctorate of Medical Sciences (DMS) at Lincoln Memorial University.
Throughout his career, Adam has worked in various areas of healthcare, including Internal Medicine/Primary Care, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, and Urgent Care. He also joined the Army National Guard in 2012 as a PA, now serving as an Aeromedical PA with an Aviation Battalion. Adam was deployed to the Middle East in 2017 and Kosovo in 2020.
Adam has witnessed the healthcare system in the U.S. becoming increasingly inefficient and less patient-centered over the past 30 years. In response, he founded NuMed Direct Primary Care in 2018, a healthcare model that focuses on health and wellness rather than sickness. This approach has been very successful, but Adam wanted to expand his impact and help people regardless of location. This led to the creation of his Feed the Beast program, which emphasizes ancestral living and optimal health and wellness.
In his free time, Adam enjoys outdoor activities with his family and their three dogs, including hiking, functional exercise programs, and rucking.
Susie Damon, MD
Centennial
Read BioI’m Dr. Susie Damon. I absolutely LOVE children and it shows in every interaction. I strive to be a trusted resource for your family.
I fell in love with the field of pediatrics during medical school training at the University of South Alabama and went on to complete my residency training at Children’s Hospital Colorado, here in Denver. I maintain full certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and am an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Many of you may know me from my years as a general pediatrician at Greenwood Pediatrics, while others may know me from my more recent years at the Kaiser Permanente Highlands Ranch and Arapahoe clinics. Either way, you know that I am kind, compassionate, empathetic, and knowledgeable!
Whether practicing pediatrics in a traditional pediatric practice setting or seeing patients who are part of a larger system like Kaiser Permanente, my frustrations have been the same. There just is not enough time to provide the high-quality of care that I strive to provide.
Traditional practices, whether large or small, rely on reimbursement from insurance companies to cover overhead and pay the bills. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not value time, only procedures. This has forced pediatricians to see more and more patients per day and has put limits on “how” pediatricians can see and care for their patients. DPC is the answer to this problem, and I am passionate about transforming primary care in a way that provides better care and access to your pediatrician at a much lower price.
On a more personal note, I live in Centennial, Colorado, with my husband, 2 teenage children, and 3 dogs. I am almost as passionate about animals as I am about children, having been raised on a small farm and growing up raising cows, pigs, and riding horses. Now, I spend my leisure time in the beautiful Colorado mountains whenever possible, enjoying all that Grand County has to offer! Other interests of mine include traveling to faraway places, reading fiction (which takes my mind to faraway places), and spending time with my family.
Selena Dasari, MD

Read BioDr. Dasari was born and raised in Northeastern Ohio and attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She felt a strong pull to come West to continue her medical education, and completed her Family Medicine training at St. Mary’s family medicine residency here in Grand Junction. During residency, she also completed the University of Arizona’s Integrative Medicine in Residency curriculum. She is excited to offer this additional knowledge to her patients and further her understanding of complementary healing modalities.
Her passion within Family Medicine is centered on improving chronic disease management and prevention, with a focus on understanding and treating the root cause of illness whenever possible. She is passionate about nutrition’s role in health and disease, and values lifestyle modifications to assist in healing whenever possible. She believes that the patient-physician relationship should function as a team, and values shared decision-making to guide medical decisions. When not practicing medicine, she enjoys spending her time outside in the Colorado sun- hiking, skiing, or walking her giant dog, Koda.
Natasha Deming, MD
Longmont, Frederick
Read BioDr. Deming is a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician who is excited to join the Nextera team! She received her Undergraduate and Medical degrees at the University of Florida. She then became a Colorado transplant to complete her residency at Rose Family Medicine Residency in Denver in 2016.
Dr. Deming has always loved the “cradle to grave” scope of Family Medicine with the ability to care for people of all ages. She has been passionate about serving her patients in a collaborative and compassionate manner. After her residency training, she served in the rural farming community of Yuma, Colorado for six years. She provided primary care, inpatient and emergency medicine to the community. This opportunity challenged Dr. Deming to serve her patients in creative ways to provide them the care that they needed with limited resources to specialty care and other support. She gained a great deal of knowledge about medicine and herself as this experience shaped her practice as a physician.
Her clinical practice focuses on broad-spectrum Family Medicine including preventative medicine, care of chronic conditions, weight loss management, pediatrics, women’s health, and urgent care needs. She especially enjoys the opportunity to form open and trusting relationships with her patients and finds this to be the most gratifying aspect of practicing medicine. She performs a variety of procedures including long-term birth control insertion and removal, fracture splinting/casting, joint injections, minor skin procedures, and others.
In her spare time, you can find her playing with plants, paint and yarn; cooking, fishing, traveling, reading, practicing martial arts, and spending time in the beautiful Colorado outdoors.

Jamie Glover, MD
Monument
Read BioI am a family physician, wife, mom and veteran. I have been practicing medicine since 1999 when I received my M.D. in Bethesda, Maryland. I enjoy the full spectrum of family medicine to include care for younger and older adults, teens, children and infants. I enjoy women’s and men’s health, office gynecology, acute care, office procedures from stitches to joint injections, sports medicine and behavioral health. I have special interests and experience in adolescent medicine, contraceptive procedures (to include IUDs and implants), and HIV medicine.
I served as a physician in the United States Air Force for nine years until 2008, practicing outpatient, hospital, obstetric, emergency and deployed medicine during that time. I was also on the teaching faculty at Eglin AFB Family Medicine Residency. After separating from the Air Force, I continued practicing medicine in varied settings as I followed my husband from state to state until his own retirement from the Air Force in 2015.
Besides being the founder & solo-physician at Glover Family Medicine and a medical director with VeraCare Hospice, I am also currently appointed as an assistant clinical professor for the University of Colorado School of Medicine. I hope to grow my practice to the point where I can have a medical student or resident rotate with me. I would like to help them gain an appreciation for the beautiful specialty of family medicine (and maybe even recruit them into the specialty). I want to introduce students and residents to primary care as it was meant to be... relationship-based, not production-based. I hope to show them that there are alternatives to "assembly-line medicine".
From my work in all of these settings, I have gained insight into many of the issues surrounding access to affordable primary care in our nation. I have lived and practiced in the Monument/Colorado Springs area since 2012 and we have chosen to settle here near our alma mater, the US Air Force Academy. I am ready to have my own clinic that cultivates a sense of community and where my patients have time to personally connect with me. My husband and I have two children in D38. Our family enjoys supporting Air Force Academy athletics and living the mountain lifestyle.

Read BioSarah Kray is a native of Colorado who trained to be a PA at the University of Iowa, one of the top-ranked PA programs in the country. Since she graduated in 2007, she has spent her career working in Primary Care/Family Medicine, serving people of all ages. In 2010, she and her husband returned to Colorado and settled in Loveland.
Her passion for helping people was re-kindled when she discovered the concept of Direct Primary Care. She believes it can change the way we practice medicine when the patient is truly put first rather than the needs or rules of the insurance companies.
When she is not in the office, she has many alter egos. You may find her as an explorer, visiting as many National Parks she can (30 out of 61 so far!) or riding her bike across the state of Iowa. She’s often lugging drums as a groupie for her husband’s rock and funk bands. She has an inner grandmother that comes out through her love of sewing quilts, doing puzzles, and drinking tea. However, her favorite role is “Aunt Fruity” to a gaggle of nieces and nephews that keep her constantly laughing.

After attending the first national conference on Concierge Medicine in 2005 and at the urging of many of his patients he founded the first concierge medicine practice in Colorado outside of the Denver area. “The model gives me the opportunity to go above and beyond for my patients, acting as their trusted medical advocate, getting them the care and resources they need when and where they need it. Read BioStefano Lee, MD, is a family practice doctor offering Direct Primary Care. He earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside. From there, Dr. Lee attended medical school at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Following school, he completed his family residency at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, CA and became board certified in 2011.
Prior to discovering the Direct Primary Care model, Dr. Lee was practicing at a typical fee-for-service family clinic. Dr. Lee began to feel empty inside after seeing many patients for less than 10-12 minutes all day. He initially thought he needed a slight change such as working at a new clinic. However, after multiple interviews at small to large organizations, he realized he was receiving the same question repeatedly from them; can you see more than 20-25 patients a day? Dr. Lee then began to remember why he went into medicine in the first place; which was to take care of not only his patient’s physical health, but also their emotional and spiritual health. This revelation led Dr. Lee to the Direct Primary Care model of practicing medicine.
In addition to previously working as a fee-for-service family provider, Dr. Lee’s experience includes Medical Director at Salud Family Health Center in Frederick, CO and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado. Dr. Lee was born in Korea and has been fortunate to have lived in Indonesia, Ecuador, and now the US. As a result, he is fluent in three languages: English, Spanish, and Korean. I grew up in a small town in Western Massachusetts, went to college at the University of New Hampshire, and landed in Colorado after graduation; expecting to play in the mountains and stay for a year. One year has now evolved into 20 years! I did take a brief break from CO and lived in the mountains of Peru for four months as well as the time I spent in Portland, Oregon at OHSU for PA school.
My entire career as a PA has been in family medicine caring for infants to geriatrics and providing prenatal care. I have worked solely in community medicine where about 80% of my patients were monolingual Spanish speakers. In addition to patient care, I have held leadership positions for the last seven years as an Assistant Medical Director and then Medical Director at Clinica, one of the largest and busiest community health clinics.
I live in Northwest Denver with my husband, two daughters, and our dog. We love to ski and play in the mountains any chance we get. I also love to travel, cook, do crossfit, and ride the peloton. I can easily get lost in a good book for hours.

Read BioI grew up in Boulder, hiking the Flatirons and skiing the back country, and am so honored to practice medicine in the community that raised me. I am married to Jayme and we have three kids. Our eldest was born in a freestanding birth center and the two younger were born at home. On my off days, you can find me training for my next triathlon, walking with a good friend, creating pottery, and playing with my kids. I believe the necessary pillars to a thriving life include sunshine, whole foods, body movement, and whole person wellness.
Why do I practice direct primary care?
I attended medical school in hopes of utilizing my passion for physiology to harness healing for those who were suffering. After working with sick, exasperated patients dealing with the downstream effects of chronic disease, I realized that I was most interested in prevention and optimization of one's health earlier on in the journey. I care about discovering the root cause of an illness and evoking change from that origin. For example, eczema might be cleared with steroid cream temporarily, but what caused it in the first place? Let's look at the genetics, immune system, diet, stress, lifestyle, allergen, and other factors that are contributing to this skin manifestation. Boulder Valley DPC was born out of my desire to have the time for true informed choice discussions, to empower my patients to take charge of their own health care decisions, to focus on multi-faceted holistic health, and to celebrate true transformation. I walk patients through the full journey of life, from birth through death. I would be honored to partner with you in your journey towards optimal health.

Read BioCarrie Wilcox, MD, is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Spanish before attending medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Growing up in small-town Nebraska inspired her to pursue training in Family Medicine, where the scope of practice isn’t limited to just one area of health. She completed residency at Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, where she served as chief resident during her final year of residency. The appeal of Colorado’s active lifestyle made an impression during that time, and after working a year of locum tenens in New Zealand, she moved back to practice in Longmont, Colorado. Read BioDr. Wobbekind moved to Golden in 2015 and decided to start a medical practice, she was instantly certain of the name she would choose. She can think of no better name than “The Golden Stethoscope” to represent the outstanding level of care and commitment you will receive from her; both rooted in the past and reaching out toward the future.
Dr. Wobbekind loves the Direct Primary Care model of medicine because it provides amazing opportunities for both herself and you. Together, you can focus on what is truly important: your health. In current insurance-based doctors’ offices, a doctor does not get paid unless you walk through the door for a visit. Unfortunately, this creates multiple negative situations such as:
- you can’t talk to your doctor on a regular basis or outside regular office hours
- you have long wait times at the office
- you feel you are herded through the office when you finally get to see your doctor
- you may feel like you don’t really have a personal relationship with your doctor
With Direct Primary Care, Dr. Wobbekind does not have to focus on how many visits she needs to see you to keep her doors open or whether she should add another blood pressure medication to get your numbers just right for insurance reimbursement. Rather, you and Dr. Wobbekind can focus on keeping you healthy and happy. You have the option to see her in the office, email or text her your blood pressure readings, or even send her a recent article you are interested in knowing more about. Dr. Wobbekind is more interested in finding lifestyle changes that work for you rather than adding on another medication to meet your health goals.
Dr. Wobbekind received her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology with a Minor in English from UCLA. She returned to Colorado for medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She then completed her Primary Care Internal Medicine residency at George Washington University in Washington, DC. After residency, she again returned to Colorado where she remotely completed her Master’s in Public Health and Tropical Medicine training through Johns Hopkins University.

Read BioI am a family physician to the core. I love connecting and caring for families, while trying to balance raising my own. When I initially entered medical school, I thought for sure that I would be a pediatrician as I have always loved children, but found that family medicine gave me the ability to support the entire family throughout their lives.
I believe in a strong patient physician relationship. Part of my job as your physician is to help you wade through the endless stream of information about your health and help you make an informed decision that fits with your personal situation.
I love finding creative ways for you to balance your life with healthy habits. I find I operate my best when I am fueling myself well and moving my body joyfully. I love nearly any type of exercise, and enjoy finding delicious healthy food that I can add to my diet so that I can eat healthy while still enjoying what I eat.

Kendrick Johnson, DO
Peoria
Read BioHi, I’m Dr. Kendrick. I’m excited to get to know you and help you be as healthy and happy as you can be.
My philosophy is that patients should be given the best information and then given the ability to direct their care based on their own values. Now patients have access to a lot more information and they need to be empowered to make their own decisions. As we switch over to a system where patients are in control of and responsible for their own health, we will find that will lead to prescribing fewer medications and scheduling fewer invasive procedures.
But if more medication isn’t the answer, then what is? I personally believe it is lifestyle. Studies have shown that 80% of chronic diseases are preventable with nutrition, exercise, sleep and emotional/spiritual wellness. If there were a pill that could reduce chronic illness by 80%, we’d pay lots of money for it. As a family doctor in Phoenix, I’m selling the lifestyle “miracle pill” where the only cost is work and the only major side effect is happiness.

Read BioCarrie Anderson, MD is a board-certified family physician with 24+ years of experience treating all age groups. She remained very busy for 19 years teaching, training students and residents, and practicing all aspects of inpatient and outpatient care. Dr. Anderson enjoys helping patients with weight management, chronic disease reversal, mental health conditions, acute conditions, and so much more.
James Carpenter, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
Orlando
Read BioBorn in Maryland, James spent most of his childhood in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, where he lived with his mother, two brothers, and sister. He attended Misericordia University for his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Mr. Carpenter worked as an emergency medical technician, a lifeguard, and a nursing aide during that time. Shortly after completing his degree, he moved to Orlando, Florida, where he trained as an emergency room nurse. James loved his chosen career, but early on noticed the impact of long, stressful hours on his colleagues, which was primarily due to hospital administrators always demanding more work for the same pay. He recognized the negative impact of burnout on patients, their families, and staff. It is a domino effect and everyone suffers. He envisioned a place where burnout did not exist. A place where healthcare workers, patients, and families could receive quality care that was affordable and easily accessible.
Early on in his career, he saw that greed had taken over the healthcare system, which had a detrimental impact on everyone involved. He traveled around to various cities and found that burnout was everywhere- patients, families, and staff were suffering. In his travels, Mr. Carpenter was also fortunate to meet many talented individuals who went above and beyond without asking for anything in return. These people who challenged him and made him want more for himself pushed him to become a nurse practitioner. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from South University, West Palm Beach. For the majority of his career, he has provided care for emergency department patients and families.
After ten years of working for a fractured health care system, one that thrives on its members’ illness, Nurse Practitioner James finally decided it was time for a drastic change. During the COVID epidemic, James decided to execute his plan of opening a practice following a model he had been studying for some time. It was a model that fostered health rather than burnout and it was called Direct Primary Care. He would utilize this model, but tailor memberships to fit the individual, leading to significantly reduced healthcare costs. Aside from cost-effectiveness, 24/7 access lends itself to healthier, more satisfied clients. The integration of medicine with technology ensures that patients have continuous access to their providers from wherever they may end up. James hopes to create a healthcare system where people no longer have to choose between buying dinner and receiving excellent health care. It is time to put humanity back in health care. Together, we can build a healthier, happier tomorrow.
Outside of work, James lives a lifestyle based on wellness for both his mind and body. He enjoys going to the gym, running, doing yoga, paddle boarding, cooking healthy meals, and traveling. He believes living healthy and leading by example is the best way to instill positive behavioral changes in his patients. In addition to wellness, James’ passions beyond primary care include hormone replacement therapy, peptides, and aesthetics which helps to optimize the way his patients look and feel.

Shenary Cotter, MD
West Gainesville
Read BioDr. Cotter completed medical school and residency, OB track, at the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1997. She practiced full-scope Family Medicine in a high priority physician shortage area in East Tennessee, including operative obstetrics. After completing the National Health Service Corps Scholarship, she practiced in a variety of settings, including hospitalist medicine, emergency medicine, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and outpatient medicine. As Faculty at the University of Florida, Dr. Cotter enjoyed teaching clinical medicine to medical students as well as working on the Admissions Committee at the College of Medicine.
Dr. Cotter left academic/employed healthcare in order to co-found Gainesville Direct Primary Care Physicians for one reason; health improves best when a patient has a relationship connection to his or her physician. Though physicians of the past knew this, research is now showing that it is in fact true. Dr. Cotter has done two important things in creating this practice. She designed the practice to support relationship - hour-long visits, expansive medical services included, and multiple ways to communicate with her. She has also eliminated factors impeding the doctor-patient relationship: the computer, administrative burden, interference from insurance/government, unmanageable patient loads, and affordability of care.
Dr. Cotter's favorite thing about Gainesville DPC Physicians?
“I can combine my scientific medical knowledge with my knowledge of how loved we are by God to optimize health in all patients."

Read BioKarisa Falden, D.O., is a family medicine physician at Aspire Health Center. I specialize in women’s health, mental health, preventive medicine and I am currently training in functional medicine. She also provides outpatient procedures like laceration repairs, cryotherapy, skin biopsies, and joint injections. I completed my residency at AMITA Health Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago. During my time there I served as executive chief resident and chair of the hospital’s Wellness Committee. During my residency, I developed a true passion for helping patients in a holistic and comprehensive manner. After residency, I joined Baptist Health in the Florida Keys. My advocacy for patient care began to grow as I saw first-hand how patients were not getting the time or treatment they deserved. Due to time constraints, cost, and other barriers of corporate medicine, patients were not getting the care they needed. I truly believe it is essential to get to the root of a patient's symptoms instead of only treating diseases. And as much as I loved my practice, I realized I needed more time and autonomy to be able to treat my patient in all the ways they deserved. Which is why I was so excited to join Dr. Singh and the Aspire Health Team. I look forward to developing real relationships with my patients to help support them in all their health goals. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my husband, exercising, reading, attending conferences, playing with my dog, volunteering in my community, and doing home projects.

Beatrice
Read BioI am the youngest of 3 boys born in West Point, NE, and raised in Fremont, NE. My father was a US Post Office letter carrier who taught me to work hard and pay attention to details. My mother was a kindergarten school teacher who encouraged me to always do my best with a positive attitude—my day is “great and getting better” she would say. Their lessons and encouragement followed me to the University of NE-Lincoln. I initially majored in computer science, but noted quickly that I enjoyed working with other students more than computers. I read a book called “Operation Prayer” that provided a list of prayer requests for other countries and their needs. I noticed the frequent need for medical doctors. It was at that time that I changed my major to chemistry and took classes to prepare for medical school. Before medical school I married my college sweetheart, Sandy, and we headed to Omaha to attend the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.
Following medical school, we headed to Wichita, KS, and I completed a family medicine residency at St. Joseph Family Practice where I was chief resident in the third year. After becoming a Board Certified Family Physician in 1991 we landed in Beatrice where we have remained. We have been fortunate to raise our 5 children here—Allison, Betsy, Caleb, Danielle, and Elijah. Beatrice has been very good to us with many medical opportunities as well. I had the blessing to work at the Gage County Medical Clinic for 17 ½ years before moving to the emergency department in 2008. I have also been able to work with the hospital to develop a palliative care program, work as a hospitalist, and develop a nursing home comprehensive care program. However, I miss the close patient-physician relationships I was able to develop when I was first in practice. For the last 5 years I have researched the new Direct Primary Care (DPC) approach to medicine. With a smaller patient panel and more time with patients, I am able to return to the personal nature of medicine, providing care like a doctor who is a friend of the family, with affordable, value-laden care.

It was in the Air Force that I discovered the Physician Assistant, as they were the primary healthcare providers for the military. After 4 years of military service, I decided to change careers and returned to Nebraska to pursue my own career as a PA.
I completed my master’s in Medicine/Physician Assistant Studies at UNMC in 1997. I have practiced Family Medicine in Gretna, Nebraska, ever since and have Ioved every minute. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed the dimensions family practice has to offer – Pediatrics and Geriatrics. My focus is preventive medicine and wellness. I have a special interest in Adolescent Medicine, hormone imbalance and holistic therapies. I believe treating the whole person is the best way to achieve optimal health.
Early in my career, I organized health fairs to bring awareness to heart disease prevention and outlined healthy eating guidelines, called “Lynn’s Lites” to help my patients make better lifestyles and dietary changes. I also belong to the Citizens Committee to Provide a Safe and Healthy Environment for the Youth of Gretna. This allows me to communicate high risk behaviors amongst our youth, such as STD, drug and alcohol trends, so that we may help our kids make better, healthier choices and bridge the communication gap between parents and children through awareness.
For these efforts, I was humbly honored with the Physician Assistant of the Year award in 2003.

Read BioMy journey towards a career in medicine has been driven by a profound fascination with the intricate interplay between science and human well-being. Since the early days of my education, I’ve been captivated by the art of unraveling the mysteries of the human body, understanding the causes of ailments that afflict people, and devising therapies to alleviate their suffering. This dual love for science and people has been the cornerstone of my 41-year-long medical practice, which I still find deeply fulfilling.
Over the years, I’ve come to realize that the essence of medicine lies in the doctor-patient relationship, where compassion, empathy, and trust flourish. However, the current healthcare landscape has become increasingly burdened by bureaucracy and profit-driven corporate interests, to the detriment of genuine patient care. This realization has led me to transition into Direct Primary Care, a model that allows me to eliminate the barriers imposed by insurance companies and prioritize the health and well-being of my patients. I’m motivated by the belief that healthcare should focus on disease prevention, not just management, and should provide my son, who has recently joined my practice, with the opportunity for a fulfilling and sustainable career in medicine. Ultimately, like most individuals, I aspire to find the time to savor the simple joys of life with my family and relish the wonders of nature that surround us.

Read BioMy journey towards a career in medicine took a somewhat unconventional path. While one might assume that my interest in the field was sparked by growing up in the midst of my father’s Family Practice, my true calling revealed itself years later when I transitioned from teaching to explore the realm of healthcare. It was during a visit to my father’s office that I encountered a medical student who had previously been a teacher, much like myself. This serendipitous encounter left an indelible mark on my perspective, igniting a passion for patient education. The joy I find in teaching my patients about their conditions and empowering them with knowledge has become a defining aspect of my medical practice.
My professional journey has been characterized by dedication and growth. I proudly graduated from WesternU in Lebanon, Oregon, in 2019 and went on to complete a rigorous three-year family medicine residency in Blacksburg, Virginia, where I had the privilege of serving as the chief resident during my final year. I now hold board certifications in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, with ongoing pursuits in the fields of Obesity Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. Throughout my training and the relatively short time I’ve been in practice, I’ve witnessed the formidable barrier that insurance presents to optimal patient care. When my father approached me with the idea of converting his practice to Direct Primary Care, it was a decision I made with unwavering conviction. The prospect of dedicating more quality time to my patients, thereby enhancing their overall health and well-being, stands as one of the most fulfilling aspects of my medical career. Beyond my professional endeavors, I cherish the time spent with my family and indulge in an eclectic array of hobbies, including scuba diving, knitting, and fishing. These interests serve as a vital source of balance and inspiration in my life.

Read BioI was raised in the Dallas suburb of Prosper with my four siblings and countless animals. After graduating high school, I attended Southwestern University in Georgetown where I received a BA in Psychology followed by a Masters in Health Psychology from Texas State University. I then moved to Arizona to attend Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine but returned to my roots in Dallas where I completed my Family Medicine residency at Methodist Charlton.
My frustration with our current system, both as a physician and as a patient, has made it a no-brainer to take this leap - and even my non-medical husband agrees. The system is broken. I could get on my soapbox, but we all know the problems. Paradigm Family Health was founded to simplify healthcare and eliminate the bureauracy.
I entered medical school with the vision of serving my community with affordable and high-quality healthcare. The direct primary care model is a membership-based model that helps decrease overall costs and passes the savings on to the patient. All it takes is one abscess, one laceration, one ankle sprain, one Montezuma's revenge needing an IV, one illness while you're away on vacation, or one chronic disease and you can have hundreds if not thousands in healthcare bills. That's where I come in.

Read BioHi all! I’ve been in Dallas for most of my life and grew up here. I received my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2017, then attended medical school at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated with my Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 2021. I graduated from residency training at the Medical City Arlington Family Medicine program. I enjoy what I do and am honored to be giving back to the community that’s taught me so much and continues to teach! Some areas of interest of mine are women’s health, weight loss medicine and mental health care. As a DO, I look at each patient as a whole to make sure all aspects of your health, both mental and physical, are cared for. That’s one of the many reasons I decided to join this DPC practice- to be able to spend quality time with my patients and provide comprehensive care. I hope to see you in clinic soon and look forward to caring for you and your loved one’s!
Some things about me- I love my dog, Moose, and you’ll probably be seeing some pics of him when you come to visit. I’m really family oriented and I spend most of my free-time with my fiancé, pup, family and friends. We like being outdoors (when the TX weather permits), taking Moose to our local dog park, trying out new restaurants and traveling. I enjoyed gardening while living in Arkansas and now I’m in the beginning stages of growing my own garden of fresh veggies and herbs.

Thomas Kay, MD
New Braunfels
Read BioI am a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician who has been practicing for more than 20 years, taking care of newborns to elders. Since medical school, my great love for medicine has always been caring for all ages, helping with acute illnesses (from common colds to serious problems), chronic health concerns, disease prevention, and my favorite, wellness promotion.
While gaining experience in treating patients the world over, I have come to see a common thread: Patients want to be heard and cared for – we all do, actually. However, over the last couple decades, I have become disillusioned with the trend of doctor-patient relationships. In our current model, we often have no time to address the real health concerns of our patients.
Kristen Knight, PA
Dallas
Read BioI went to PA school at Baylor College of Medicine and have since spent the majority of my professional career in the Emergency Room of a level 1 trauma center, where I have truly seen it all. The trenches of the ER built me into a strong clinician, but I have always felt the pull to spend more time (too much time, by ER standards!) with each individual patient. The deeper I get into my career, the more I value the gift of time. Time to have meaningful conversations with patients, time to develop long-term relationships, time to individualize each patient's treatment options. The direct primary care model at Paradigm allows for this gift of time to truly become a reality, and I am so thankful for it.
I grew up in a household full of medical professionals, so it seems my future was written in the stars. My mother was a labor and delivery nurse and my father a bone-marrow transplant oncologist. I have two younger sisters whom I adore - another physician assistant and a nurse practitioner! We grew up living where my Dad’s career took us (Boston - Seattle - DFW) and have been in TX since 1994. I went to undergrad in Williamsburg, VA and graduated from The College of William & Mary with a biology degree and and wide open future. I elected to spend the next year volunteering in the Dominican Republic, exposing me to medical care in a 3rd world country. Wow. That formative year ignited my passion for medical mission work, especially in Hispanic countries, and I have since returned on several additional mission trips to the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Guatemala. I love the opportunity to speak Spanish, the family-oriented communities, and the culture of thankfulness despite having so little.

Read BioWhen the time came to start medical school at the University of Texas HSC in Houston (now McGovern Medical School), I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer two months before classes would start, and for the first time I had the experience of helplessness and fearfulness that can come with being a patient in our current, confusing system. I knew I wanted to change it to be better for others someday, but at the same time it was my extreme good fortune to have an excellent team of physicians who both treated me, and became role models through my medical training.
I met my husband in our first year of medical school (he was two groups over in the anatomy lab), and we were married in my home town of New Orleans in the Spring of our third year. We ultimately decided to stay in Houston to continue our residency training in the Texas Medical Center, where I pursued combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and Devin trained in Anesthesiology. Now, after 8 years in Houston we have decided it is Devin’s turn to be close to home, and have moved back to Dallas where he grew up and his side of our family still lives.
We are so excited to begin our careers in Dallas, and it is such a privilege for me to be joining Dr. Benson at Paradigm Family Health! I have known for a long time that I wanted to take care of families, and to truly know my patients and community. I am delighted to have found a home in this model of practice, which I believe is the answer to that question of what went wrong with healthcare in our country and how I can make a difference. Direct Primary Care means placing the control back in the hands of the patients and physicians, so we can collaborate to make deliberate choices that are sensitive to individual needs, and create true wellness. I'm so excited to get started!

She saw the difference made in people's lives when given the time and access to address all health concerns as they arise or even before they arise. The model actually works to help people be healthier, care more affordable, and with less provider burnout!
After experiencing the kind of health care experience that Direct Primary Care provides, Dr. Johnson elected to continue this work in individual practice and is opening Trivas Family Medicine in West Seattle.
Dr. Johnson approaches health through the lens of the patient situation. She focuses on the life context of the individual: their health conditions, family history, age, family and employment status, hobbies, health aspirations and barriers to find realistic and achievable ways to improve health.
