Meet the providers at the Fort Collins location of Nextera Healthcare:

Crystal

Clint Flanagan, MD, is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has over 14 years of experience as an ER physician and maintains certificates in Advanced Cardiac and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He completed medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center then went on to residency at St Mary’s Family Medicine Program in Grand Junction, Colorado. He’s a diplomate of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Flanagan is the founder of Nextera Healthcare, the first direct primary care company in Colorado, and has been a local primary care physician and emergency medicine physician for over a decade.

Dr. Flanagan is a recognized leader in healthcare, was named a “Top 20 Who’s Who in Direct Primary Care in the US”, and was invited to the White House to discuss the future of healthcare. He is a founding member and is currently serving on the steering committee of the Direct Primary Care Coalition in Washington DC. Dr. Flanagan was also instrumental in helping pass the Direct Primary Health Care Services Law in Colorado and the Direct Primary Care Agreement Act in Nebraska through his testimony and participation.

Joy Magruder, MD, graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA in 1997. While at Jefferson Medical College, she participated in their Physician Shortage Area Program with a focus on training doctors to practice rural medicine. She then completed her Family Medicine Residency training in Duluth, MN in 2000, when she was also board certified in Family Medicine. She spent five years in rural Proctor, MN practicing full-spectrum Family Medicine including Obstetrics. In 2005, she moved with her family to Riverton, WY and practiced rural medicine for nine years and then neighboring town of Thermopolis, WY for three years. In 2016, her husband’s job brought her and her family to sunny Colorado where she continued to practice family medicine in the Loveland community.

Donna M. Newkirk, MSN, FNP-BC, is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received both her undergraduate Bachelor’s of Nursing Degree as well as her Master’s of Nursing Degree at the University of Alaska in Anchorage. She has been an independent family nurse practitioner for 19 years. She grew up in Colorado and recently returned to the state after living in Alaska for many years. She is thrilled to be involved in direct primary care. When she is not working, Donna enjoys hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, and gardening.
