Denise Barnes, MA, LPC, REV

Denise received her Master’s degree from Naropa University in Boulder Colorado and is a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1997. Her counseling experience has largely been in health care settings, including CardioPulmonary Rehab and Cancer support. She has worked in community mental health centers, managed psychosocial research projects (UCCC), and has a private therapy and coaching practice in Boulder.

Denise’s specialty areas include Stress management, Anxiety, Grief, Trauma, Work transitions, Communication challenges, and Habit and Health Change. She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and uses Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients harness their deepest motivation for making tough changes. Denise co-creates a powerful support container with clients to work through challenges so they regain their innate strength and wisdom to live with balance, meaning and fulfillment.
