Chris Edmundson, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Colorado
Firestone, Erie
Chris was a competitive runner throughout his childhood which led to a number of injuries and many visits to physical therapy. It was his extensive experience as a patient which drew Chris into the profession of physical therapy. It is this experience which continues to fuel his empathy and passion for helping his patients.
Chris began as a physical therapist in 2003 after receiving a master’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He later went on to complete advanced training in manual therapy at the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and a doctorate in physical therapy at Simmons College in Boston. His commitment to excellence led him to complete a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Chris is Board Certified in Orthopaedics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Therapists. This is a level of training achieved by less than 1% of physical therapists.
Most of his career, Chris has worked for urban and suburban hospital-based outpatient therapy departments. This has exposed him to some of the most challenging patient cases and allowed for collaboration with some of the best therapists in the profession. Now, Chris takes the best features of hospital-based physical therapy and combines it with the easy access and personalized care of a smaller therapy clinic.
Outside of the clinic Chris teaches at Regis University as Affiliate Faculty in the School of Physical Therapy. He volunteers his time to the American Physical Therapy Association working on legislation to help increase access to healthcare and decrease the costs to patients. Chris has also served as a test question writer for the National Physical Therapy Exam. Chris’s hobbies include scuba diving, rock climbing, ice climbing, ultra-running, adventure racing, cycling and snowboarding.
