I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, until the age of 15 at which time my parents relocated us to Florida. Shortly after arriving my journey in the medical field began while working in a physical therapy clinic back office, I was fortune to have an amazing Therapist that started to teach me what he could. This early exposure solidified my passion for healthcare, leading me to join the U.S. Army right after high school in 1991. There I was trained as an Operating Room Specialist and later a Dental Specialist, the discipline and skills I developed during my military service have profoundly shaped my career.
Upon leaving the military, I continued to expand my medical expertise as a surgical technician and leading me to cross train as a medical assistant. Concurrently, I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Management with a minor in Finance from Columbia College of Missouri, graduating in 2005. Despite a busy personal life, that included marriage and raising two children, my dedication to healthcare persisted. I achieved a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida in 2007, became board certified in 2013, and later earned a Doctor of Medical Sciences from Lincoln Memorial University in 2019.
My clinical experience as a Physician Assistant is broad and diverse. I have worked in various settings, including Dermatology with a focus on MOHS skin cancer treatment, internal medicine, urgent care, family care, and pediatrics. Each role has enriched my understanding and ability to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to my patients. In addition to my clinical work, I find great fulfillment in teaching, particularly in online education — a field I am passionate about as it continues to evolve.
