Tana Smith, MD
Tana Smith, MD is a family medicine physician who has practiced the full scope of family medicine (including prenatal care and obstetrics). She is currently the Medical Director at the Red Rocks Physician Assistant program and a Commissioner for the National Accreditation Board for all PA schools in the U.S., She attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine and has a MA in molecular genetics. Prior to her career as a physician, Tana was a Medical Assistant and also managed an Urgent Care center.
Tana is passionate about education for both patient and medical training. She believes a good rapport and understanding of a patient’s needs drives a better health outcome.
Outside of work, Tana enjoys skiing, hiking and swimming as well as reading a good book. She has been married for 32 years and has 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
